About Sandqvist

Sandqvist is a brand focusing on challenging the role of functionality in design and practicing sustainability at all times without compromising the aesthetics. Sandqvist was founded in 2004, initially as an experimental design project by three childhood friends; Anton, Daniel and Sebastian. The brand grew organically as a response to the lack of well-crafted, design-led, functional bags on offer at the time and disrupted the status-quo on how practicality can go hand-in-hand with design. Staying true to their Scandinavian roots, the three founders still believe in Swedish values: sustainability and care for the environment, high-quality designs and uncompromising functionality.

Make a conscious choice and select from our sustainable brands to contribute to our efforts to a greener future world. Sandqvist is focusing on four areas where they think they can make a positive impact: climate change, chemicals, biodiversity and water issues.

Chemicals are used in the manufacturing of all textile products. To minimize the impact that these chemicals can have on the environment, they have strict requirements on what chemicals can be used in the production process.

Their fabrics and weaves in organic cotton are only treated with substances and dyes approved for organic materials. Where possible, the synthetic material they use is certified regarding chemical content. In addition to this, they also perform risk based chemical testing on their products.

Their goal is to minimize climate impact from transport, by choosing the most environmentally-friendly transport options where possible.

The textile and leather industries are big contributors to the pollution of water worldwide, however Sandqvist is set on minimizing their water impact. They can do this by strictly controlling the chemicals used throughout their supply chain, making sure chemical management of their suppliers is in keeping with best practices and that water is conserved at all steps of production.
