Do you excitedly wait this time every year to see what kind of outfits will appear at the most prestigious award ceremony of the year? We were definitely on pins and needles this time and we were honestly surprised that instead of the evening gowns, which were worn during the ceremony itself, we found ourselves fixated over the naked dresses worn at the Vanity Fair afterparty.
Recently, it has become more and more fashionable among celebrities to go bold on the red carpet in order to show off their bombshell figures and we can say that this trend culminated in this year’s Oscar party, where completely sheer dresses practically dominated the looks. Here are some of our favourite creations of which we simply cannot take our eyes off.
1. CIARA - DUNDAS (D24)
We don't think that this evening there was another girl who showed more skin than Ciara. The singer chose a gorgeous naked dress from the brand called DUNDAS, which fully showed not only her cleavage, but also her super toned abs. The bold gown was complemented with princess-like, long gloves to elevate the outfit to the level of elegance required by the event. We simply adore the set!
2. Hunter Schafer wears Ann Demeulemeester
The beautiful actress, Hunter Schafer wore a dress designed by Belgian fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester, in which she looked absolutely breathtaking, but which hid almost nothing. The contrasting-style outfit consisted of a dramatic, floor-length white skirt and a feather-shaped top that covered just a teeny-tiny bit. A beautiful, yet incredibly bold choice!
3. Daisy Edgar-Jones in Gucci
It was amazing how Daisy Edgar-Jones rocked this sexy Gucci dress, which was also functioning as a true jewel, because of the hundreds of crystals it was decorated with. Although the piece didn't really leave much to our imagination, the figure-hugging silhouette and the high neckline made even this really hot piece elegant enough for the occasion. Would you dare wearing it?
4. Emily Ratajkowski - Feben
Emily's dress arrived straight from the Feben catwalk to the red carpet and it was probably inspired by medieval chain mail shirts, because she practically looked like she was wearing an armour. The masculine, woven, metallic material was softened by the bodycon figure, the turtleneck style and the strategically placed braided details. Thanks to this exciting combination, it was a real hit with us.
It was extremely difficult to choose our favourites, as – at least from a fashion point of view 😉 - everyone gave their bests at the most important party of the year. Scroll on and check out the rest of the dresses yourself and judge our decision.
XOXO,
Barbi and Cristina
