A few weeks ago I flew to Los Angeles to attend my best friend’s wedding. It was a “Mexigarian” party, because the bride is Hungarian and the groom is American with Mexican heritage. I had the best time there, but finding my bridesmaid dress was super complicated for many reasons. First of all my bestie told me the exact colour I had to wear: burgundy. Which is not really my shade. Second, I couldn’t find any in Hungary. So, I arrived in the US and started looking for a dress. The day before the wedding I found the one, and I was allowed to stand next to her at the end of the aisle. Fun fact: I had to leave the dress in LA, because I only had a carry-on and it didn’t fit. In the end it became one of the most expensive dresses I’ve ever owned for a day. GIRLS, don’t wait too long to find the perfect dress for your friend’s wedding. Believe me, it’s not worth it! That’s why I’m writing this guide to prevent a possible catastrophe.
Is your coffee table already full of wedding invitations for the summer? Is the first nuptial in April or May? Then you’re at the best place, reading this article. Don’t close your laptop, until you find a chic dress AF! The rules are the following: DO NOT out-glam the bride! Try to find the perfect balance between glam and practicality. Don’t buy a one-time-wonder dress to leave behind in your wardrobe and not wear ever again. It’s not sustainable or cool at all! Be nice to the environment and play it safe. The secret is to find a dress that will look amazing either with high-heels or chunky boots.
